In addition, you can find information about upcoming changes (if available) and see a full history of macOS software updates made in the last two years (by release date and version number). This article contains information about recent changes to the Zoom app for macOS, including new and enhanced features, updates to existing features, and bug fixes. (Assuming there are no more levels that crash like this, of course.Zoom provides up-to-date release notes for our software on devices using macOS. Like I said, all this is pretty tedious and requires patience, but at least it's possible and it's better than not being able to finish the game. I assume the game would probably freeze eventually if you try to go back through the level manually, so I didn't even try. Now you'll be at the beginning in the elevator again, where you can leave the level. (Leaving the flashlight off seemed to make the freezes more frequent, if you're wondering why I didn't just do that.)Īfter the cutscene, quit the game and reload. I was then able to get to the cutscene at the end of the level with no further freezes. My successful run involved my flashlight going out while crawling around next to some pipes about halfway through the level, but the game didn't freeze, so I stopped and didn't move for a minute while waiting for it to recharge. Also, this might be my brain trying to force order on randomness, but it seems like the crashes often had something to do with the flashlight going out. It helps if you have the camouflage skill, so you can avoid combat as much as possible. However, I was not able to have any workable save files after you get to the part where you need to go into a vent from the offices, so I did have to repeat the stuff from that section onwards several times. Watch for the save icon and make backup copies of the save file as you go, so you don't have to start over from the beginning every time. However it can still randomly freeze at times. Once you're away from the beginning area and it's safely out of view, things become more manageable, since the game no longer immediately crashes if you look at it wrong (literally). You'll probably accidentally do that anyway, and have to force-quit the game several times while you're learning what to do here. When dropping out of the vents, once again do not look in the Forbidden Direction. You'll need to go up into some vents, at which point it's OK to look around. Fortunately there's only a little combat in this section so it's manageable. This means walking backwards/strafing when necessary.

Now you can move out into the level and it won't immediately crash. Rotate the view a little to the left and basically leave it there. So: at the start (inside the elevator), do not look to the right. (.Yeah.) The "70631866" folder might be a different number for different users? Not sure. The save file is in ~/Library/Application Support/Steam/userdata/70631866/239140/remote/out/save/save_coop_0.sav. While attempting this level, it's possible to get stuck with a save position that immediately crashes when loading, and if that happens and you have no backup, you're hosed. Warning: requires patience and a high tolerance for frustration, so if you don't have those, this isn't for you.įirst thing, copy the save file. However, I was actually able to get past this level.

(If that's the case, it kinda sucks for the programmers, but guess how many untold hours have been wasted programming work-arounds for PC driver bugs over the years?)Īnyway, I'm using an AMD card and encountered this same situation where it freezes/crashes.

It's also possible it's related to Apple drivers, in which case they should patch the game with a work-around. No, the problem here is simply a programming error on Techland's part. If you have a crappy Intel so-called GPU then not so much, and yes the majority of Macs have one, but guess what, so do the majority of PCs. There are some profoundly ignorant posts here.
